Job Summary
Provides independent and collaborative primary healthcare and management of care to women before, during and after pregnancy, including care of the newborn, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Job Responsibilities
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Performs appropriate emergency interventions and appropriately consults attending physician regarding complications and emergencies.
Provides education/counseling to patient and patient's family with respect to pregnancy, childbirth, care of the newborn, contraception, family planning, and gynecological care.
Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision making and the right to self-determination.
Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire
No experience required
APRN - Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND
Midwife - Certified Nurse-Midwife certification through American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) required upon hire

Works under minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
