Responsibilities An exciting opportunity is available for an HR Manager to lead the HR function for Altec in Elizabethtown, KY.
Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, this position will support the General Manager and leadership team in designing, planning, implementing, and administering human resources programs for Elizabethtown Operations.
The purpose of the position, responsibilities, and minimum qualifications are as follows: PURPOSE OF POSITION: * Designs, plans and implements human resources programs for an Altec facility; Administers corporate policies relating to compensation, benefits, associate relations, training, and health and safety programs MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly accountable for and assigns responsibilities for the administration of the following duties: * Advises managers and associates on state and federal employment regulations, benefit and compensation policies, HR procedures etc.
* Supervises HR Representatives and/or Administrative Support Associates performing recruiting, payroll, benefits, and other HR duties * Conducts exit interviews and ensures that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed; determines trends and takes action as needed * Conducts meetings with Plant Managers and/or General Managers to determine staffing needs; creates strategies to source, select and retain highly qualified and capable associates; * Consults with or serves as a technical liaison between business, industry, and government * Implements, administers and evaluates HR programs including performance management, affirmative action and employment equity * Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements; * Observes, interviews, and surveys associates and conducts focus group meetings to collect job, organizational, and occupational information; Evaluates positions, determining FLSA classification, essential functions, etc.
; * Plans and develops curricula and materials for training programs and conducts training; * Researches job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends; * Provides input to management for the resolution of associate relations issues and investigations; * Researches associate benefit and health and safety practices and recommends modifications to existing policies; * Acts as Company representative at conferences and events to promote Altec related programs * Conducts or directs the internal investigation of compliance issues; Conducts periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed; Consults with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues * Participates in unemployment hearings with state government and third-party administrators * Serves as a confidential point of contact for associates to communicate with management * All other duties as assigned EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: * Bachelor's Degree required * And one of the following o 7 years Altec Human Resources experience required with PHR Certification required, or o 7 Years minimum of Human Resources experience with 4 years of Spv/Mgr experience and PHR Certification required, or o 10 years minimum of Human Resources experience with 5 years of Spv/Mgr experience without PHR Certification required * Excellent computer skills required.
