Job Description: $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for External Candidates Part-Time 10a - 10p The Licensed Practice Nurse is responsible for age appropriate, direct patient care (including IV therapy) under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
The scope of practice is determined by the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and established Baptist Health and Nursing Service policies, procedures and standards of practice.
The LPN will focus on post-triage and waiting room patients in the Emergency Department, collecting vital signs, completing readmissions, discharging, and emphasizing patient experience.
Serves as a patient experience liaison to waiting room patients.
The LPN directs and assists ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties and interacts with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel.
The LPN demonstrates professional responsibilities and is responsible for its own practice.
The LPN assists other members of the healthcare team in providing the highest quality personalized patient care.
REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of school of practical nursing with current unrestricted Kentucky license required (LPN), or higher.
Requires good clinical, organizational, customer service and critical thinking skills.
Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred on hire and required within 90 days of hire.
Flexibility in work schedule, shift hours and job duties are required; will be required to float to other areas of the hospital based on department need and census.
Excellent communication and basic computer skills required.
Must be able to effectively interact with physicians, Emergency Department staff, and other hospital staff required.
Organizational skills and capability of working efficiently and effectively with varying workloads required.
Ability to deal with stress and deadlines required.
Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently.
Mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.
