POSITION SUMMARY: The CNA is a vital member of the System of Care.
The CNA is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of persons served/clients as they go through the rehabilitation process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this position.

Monitors persons served/ clients
Complete nursing encounter visits
Handles medication management
Ensure universal precautions of the center
Checks vital signs and records in the persons served/ client’s chart daily
Observe and assess persons served/ clients for clinical signs and symptoms and follow prescribed courses of treatment.
Assist with client scheduling, appointments and telehealth as directed by center nurse
Assist with completing withdrawal scales after training and direction of center nurse
Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required
Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
Required to protect the privacy of all persons served/ client information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care, LLC/ Odyssey, Inc.
’s privacy policy, procedures and practices as required by federal and state law, in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
Maintain a valid driver’s license
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Kentucky CNA Certification
Substance abuse experience preferred.
Experience delivering Health Education classes
Appropriate State and Federal Clearances
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery driven service system
Knowledge of community health resources that support life improvement in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, economic security, employment, positive social and family interdependence and positive cultural identity
Knowledge of the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual impact of alcohol and other drugs on the individual and family
Knowledge of airborne and blood borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB) and risk reduction methodologies and the uses of universal precautions
Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction
Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes.
Ability to pay attention to detail and be organized.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner
Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create a safe and healthy relationship with clients served
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT AND ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Ability to read detailed health records
Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
Must have sufficient mobility to move around the office and the community
