Description: JOB SUMMARY 8 Hour Shifts, Every 4th Weekend Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing treatment for the care of individuals whose ability to function is impaired or threatened by disease or injury.
Duties include treatment intervention performed to determine the degree of impariment such as, but not limited to nerve and muscle function including subcutaneous bioelectrical potentials, motor development, functional capacity, respiratory or circulatory efficiency.
Administering treatment performed upon physician referral and professional plan of care including, but not limited to, exercises for increasing or restoring strength, endurance, coordination and range of motion, stimuli to facilitate motor activity and learning, instruction in activities of daily living and the use of assistive devices and the application of physical agents ro relieve pain or alter physiological status.
The use of roentgen rays and radium for therapeutic purposes, the use of electricity for surgical purposes, including cauterization and colonic irrigations are not authorized per practice act.
Requirements: JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education Associate Degree from an accredited school in Physical Therapy Assistant.
Current BLS certification.
Minimum Work Experience Zero or more years in the field of Physical Therapy Assistant.
Required Licenses [Kentucky, United States] Physical Therapy Assistants Current license with the KY board of Physical Therapy.
FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS Physical Requirements Sitting - 1-15% Walking - 16-31% Standing - 16-31% Bending/Squatting - 16-31% Climbing/Kneeling - 1-15% Twisting - 16-31% Other Physical/Environmental Demands Transfer patients at varying levels of assistance: Supervision - Requires visual assistance only.
Minimal Assistance - Patient can perform 75% or more of physical activity; therapy staff performs 25% or less.
Moderate Assistance - Patient performs between 50% to 75% of the physical activity; therapy staff performs between 25%-50% of the task.
Maximal Assistance - Patient can perform 25% or less of the physical activity; therapy staff performs 75% or more.
Total Assistance - Patient can not perform any of the physical activity; therapy staff performs 100% of the task.
Visual and Hearing Requirements Must be able to see with corrective eyewear if needed.
Must be able to hear clearly with assistance if needed.

Regional, while at work and in public places outside of work ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential Job Functions Supervises the physical therapy department staff technicians in accordance with KY Therapy Board regulations.
Performs appropriate treatment and discharge per physician orders/referral/plan of care.
Completes documentation within policy time parameters.
Ensures that all documentation is complete and dies not require reminders and/or excessive time to complete paperwork.
Demonstrates competency with therapy intervention modalities, prosthetic/orthotic training and manual techniques.
Establishes a safe therapy environment and operates equipment within standard guidelines.
Involves patient, family and team members in plan of care and provides information, teaching and education based on identified need.
Follows policy for consent or treatment, release of medical information, confidentiality and appropriate awareness of suspected abuse and take measures to document/report then accordingly.
Employee binder up to date with competency forms, TB skin test, mask fit test, BLS and license.
Assist with caseload management when you plan to be off and/or when caseload varies (do not seek out other areas to assist).
Promotes a professional and positive image at times with coworkers, patients, families and other departments.
Communicates any changes in patient condition to the supervising therapist and other facility personnel as appropriate.
Consistently meets given standard for the area that you are in with paperwork complete.
Has met goals established for this year.
