This position has been held by a long-term staff member who is retiring later this year.

Provides personal and direct care to Loretto Living Center residents in a Person-Centered Care environment ensuring staff provide the highest standard of holistic care promoting comfort, security and dignity for all residents in a home-like atmosphere.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* · Registered Nurse, licensed in Kentucky, long-term care experience preferred · Working knowledge of nursing home regulations including Infection Control guidelines · Excellent communication skills with ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups, · Working knowledge of various software programs such as Microsoft Office products including, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel · Able to protect resident and employee confidentiality.
· Able to work well with co-workers, residents, and resident family members as well as an ability to work with a team and be a team member.
· Have patience, tact, enthusiasm, compassion, kindness, and a cheerful disposition.
· Is able to work calmly and resourcefully in prolonged stressful situations.
· Has keen sense of personal responsibility and accountability.
· Must possess leadership skills, organization and an ability to meet deadlines.
Must be able to be on 24-hour call.
Must be able to respond to facility emergencies via telephone or in person, depending on the situation.
· Knowledge and ability to utilize Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement · Complete and maintain the Methods of Instruction (MOI) certification *ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:* *Works closely with the Director of Nursing to*: o Develop, review and implement Nursing policies and procedures along with objectives that define the type of nursing care the facility proposes to provide o Identify resources needed by the facility to meet resident needs o Participate in staff assignments, skill competencies, and performance evaluations o Participate in the screening process prior to resident admission and complete resident admission or discharge processes as assigned o Review employee performance and resident issues o Review, update, and implement Nursing Policies and Procedures o Assist in new hire orientation and training of employees as assigned o Practice Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement o Assist with other projects or assignments as designated *Responsible for the development and implementation of Nursing staff development/training programs:* o Serves as Methods of Instruction (MOI) RN for Kentucky Nurse Aide Training program o Ensures the facility’s Kentucky Nurse Aide Training program is in compliance with state requirements o Provides staff development program for new Nursing Staff to ensure knowledge, skill, and competency meet facility standards *Responsible for the facility Infection Control Program:* o Serves as facility Infection Preventionist and meets CMS requirements o Implements and monitors infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections within the facility.
o Provides education to staff on infection prevention protocols, proper hygiene practices, and the use of PPE o Develops and updates infection prevention policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and guidelines o Conducts routine surveillance of infections, tracks trends, and implements strategies to prevent and control outbreaks o Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and healthcare standards related to infection prevention o Investigates and analyzes the root cause of infections, implements corrective actions, and reports findings o Participates in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance infection prevention practices and overall resident safety.
*Serves as Nurse on-call in a scheduled rotation:* o Provides coverage in the absence of the D.

in collaboration with the Administrator o Provides coverage for Administrative Nurses as needed o Provides support to Nurse Supervisors o Ensures appropriate staff levels to meet needs of residents _Loretto Living Center is a non-profit long-term care facility located near Loretto, KY.
