Occupational Health - Nurse Practitioner
Contract Date: January 2024 - Indefinite
Day Shift: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday \*40-hour work week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include
* This position is responsible for supporting the Company's health, wellness, and safety objectives through the day to day performance and/or coordination of health and medically related activity
* This includes, but is not limited to, the performance, supervision, and/or coordination of pre-placement evaluations, work and non-work related illness/injury/disability assessments and treatment, surveillance exams, fitness for duty evaluations, and drug and alcohol testing
* As clinically appropriate provide treatment of minor illness and injuries to include irrigation, cleansing and dressing of wounds and burns, removal of foreign bodies, assess and treat minor eye injuries and document the resulting case record
* Coordinate and communicate health care to include the supervising physician, community EMS/911, company medical director, and as appropriate local and corporate management
* Keep the Safety Manager informed on status of medical services, medical equipment failure, incidents, and unusual problems or conditions
* Conduct regular inspections and tests of medical service facilities and systems
* Enter lab results and data into computer
* Monitor inventory needs for required medical supplies; place orders as required to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
* Ensure all non-disposable instruments requiring sterilization are clean and sterile.
* Calibrate equipment monthly and maintain proper equipment logs.
* Monitor temperature logs daily for variance.
* Work in collaboration with on-site nurses to ensure proper care of employees
Qualifications
* 1 year of applicable experience (i.
e.
occupational medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care, family practice, sports medicine, general surgery)
* Current CRNP (Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner) license in the State of Kentucky
* Previous Occupational Health Experience preferred
* Ability to suture
* Maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.
* Prioritize and delegate tasks.
* Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities.
* Work independently with minimal supervision.
