JOB
Supervises daily activities of warehouse processes, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, shipping/receiving, and customer service.
Responsible for the proper warehousing and inventory control of materials, goods, supplies and spare parts at multiple storeroom locations.
Ensures adequate inventory levels for optimal operational support.
Maintains security and integrity of all consolidated warehouse facilities and their inventory.
Supervises, evaluates and trains assigned warehouse coordinators and specialists.
Ensures compliance with MSD's policies and procedures and applicable federal, state and local laws.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists the Regional Warehouse Manager in maintaining the operations of the warehousing processes and ensuring safekeeping of items stored in the warehouse(s).
Responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned staff, to ensure the appropriate materials, goods, equipment, etc.
are available at the appropriate stock levels for work to be performed by operations and maintenance staff.
Ensures effective utilization of all associated regional warehouse operations and their associated functions.
Observes proper loading, unloading, stocking and safekeeping of items, to maintain the quality control of materials and goods and services to prevent product damage, avoid occurrences of pilferage, accidents and occupational hazards.
Ensures staff is trained and complies with health, safety, and standard operating procedures.
Coordinates the purchasing of material and supplies between MSD Divisions.
Oversees checkout of tools and other specialized equipment by operations & maintenance staff.
Tracks non-inventory parts usage.
Assists in the proper disposal and tracking of damaged, worn, refurbished, and obsolete items.
Ensures control and accounting systems/practices are in place for accountability and tracking.
Evaluates and analyzes inventory variance.
Provides immediate solutions to significantly reduce variances, and implements appropriate countermeasures.
Leads follow-up and resolves customer concerns.
Generates/creates reports for fiscal year spend for all inventory contracted agreement items.
Assists procurement staff with bid preparation.
Assists the Regional Warehouse Manager with inventory audits.
Reviews current contract agreements to verify alignment of price and specification of goods received.
Prepares, monitors and closes out work orders and runs various reports, as necessary, utilizing SAP and Hansen IPS.
Assists with reconciling payment and product issues between suppliers and procurement staff as it relates to inventory items.
Responsible for drafting work-instructions to Regional Manager for mentoring, coaching, supervising, motivating and the training of assigned staff.
Coordinates with maintenance and operations in the preparation of annual fiscal year inventory budgets.
Assists with identifying inventory specific line items budgeted for all end users.
Oversees any planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment within the warehouse.
Responsible for maintaining a knowledge of all warehouse facilities and travels to various regional warehouse locations as required.
Ensures the management and tracking of non-inventory items, and provides audit accountability and security of these items.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Bachelor Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, accounting, finance or a related field; five or more years of related storeroom experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
One or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must have safe work and driving habits.
