Job Description: Mon-Friday, 8 hours daily 8:00a - 4:30p Hybrid position 50% remote Job Description: Coordinate the credentialing and recredentialing process for healthcare providers, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and allied health professionals.
Collect and verify required documentation, such as licenses, certifications, education, training, and professional references.
Ensure timely submission of credentialing applications to credentialing committees and external agencies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider files and databases, including credentialing software systems.
Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, state, and federal regulations, related to credentialing.
Monitor changes in regulations and accreditation standards, and update credentialing processes accordingly.
Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory audits and surveys.
Conduct periodic audits of credentialing files and databases to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational standards.
Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in credentialing documentation and follow up with providers or external agencies as needed.
Serve as a primary point of contact for providers regarding credentialing and privileging.
Foster positive relationships with providers, addressing concerns and facilitating communication between providers and credentialing committees.
Communicate credentialing requirements, deadlines, and updates to providers and departmental staff as needed.
Requirements: Associate degree required; high school diploma plus 5 years' experience as an administrative assistant may be accepted in lieu of associate degree.
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Certification preferred upon hire; required within three years of employment.
Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting.
Knowledge of credentialing standards, regulations, and best practices (e.
g.
, NCQA, Joint Commission).
Familiarity with credentialing software systems and databases (e.
g.
, MSOW, Cactus, MD-Staff).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with providers, staff, and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards in all aspects of the role.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in healthcare credentialing and peer review, preferably in a hospital or healthcare organization.
