Job Title: Credit Analyst

JOB SUMMARY: The responsibilities of the credit analyst include analyzing credit data and financial information of persons or companies that are applying for credit or loans to assist in determining the risk that the bank will not recoup funds loaned.
The level of risk is then used by the lending staff to determine if a loan or line of credit will be granted.
Credit analysts will prepare reports based upon their findings to assist loan officers in making decisions on lending and credit-worthiness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist loan officers in assessing creditworthiness of existing or prospective customers based on borrower’s information
Advise lending officer of documentation needed to properly underwrite the credit
Provide technical advice and assistance to lenders as needed
Examine financial transactions and credit history case by case (applications, statements, balance sheets, etc.
)
Complete ratio, trend and cash flow analyses and deliver written recommendations and/or suggestions to enhance the credit
Determine in depth the degree of credit risk involved in decisions and communicate same in writing to lending officer
Routinely monitor loans for compliance with loan policy
Analyze cash flows, leverage, collateral and customer strength
Maintain list of the bank’s largest borrowers that require annual financial reviews
Stay informed of the ever-changing regulatory environment through continued training
Comply with and assist others in complying with all relevant laws, regulations and policies
Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations as it pertains to the functions of this position

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
A college degree or credit analyst experience preferred
