Job Description
The Medical Institute of Kentucky is looking for an energetic and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team.
Applicants need to have experience in the following:
* Performing general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
* Clinical responsibilities to include but not limited to: obtaining vitals, performing venipuncture, administering injections, performing EKG’s, collecting specimens, performing complete urinalysis, charting and other CLIA waived testing.
* Keeping exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintaining instruments, and preparing sterilization as required.
* Medical administrative duties such as: Scheduling, billing/prior authorizations, professional communication, consent forms, and basic knowledge of coding.
* Knowledge in medical terminology.
* Keeping patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

Qualifications:
* Formal Medical Assisting Education (Required)
* Certified or eligible for certification through formal education (Required)
* 2 years of in-field experience (Required)
* Experience in Primary Care (Preferred)
* Trainer of newly hired medical assistants (Preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Self-motivated, organized • Team player • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Problem-solving skills and ability to follow through on tasks assigned • Possess unquestionable personal and professional ethics • Adaptable to learning new systems and continual changes in the practice environment.
